UNC Health Bridge Study

Architecture
Chapel Hill, NC
The design proposal for a network of pedestrian bridges on a prominent medical campus contends that safety, aesthetics, and placemaking can be balanced gracefully. The resultant solution realized at the close of the advanced planning study increases pedestrian and vehicular safety along the existing infrastructure and endeavors to improve the human experience for patients and families visiting clinical facilities. Considerations included an understanding of the street level experience, wayfinding, and architectural context.
